Production/subbing/editing

When publishers employed subs on a grander scale, Kate was a regular on the day-shift subbing circuit for business magazines, and has worked for all the major magazine houses and for a wide variety of publications. Now she offers those skills remotely from our office.

She is experienced in subbing, proof-reading, designing and laying out pages, passing for print and acting as chief sub-editor or production editor. She has dealt with all kinds of contributors, from respected journalists to well-meaning amateurs or industry experts.

Between August 2007 and December 2008, Kate was special projects editor for Building magazine. The job involved editing, commissioning and passing for press contract publishing supplements for a range of construction clients, including Balfour Beatty, Mace, Corus and Argent.
